One week old today!

Even with the sleepness nights, the first week of Ellie's life has flown by! We've had a busy week getting adjusted, visiting doctors and eating a lot! Ellie is getting more beautiful every day and we can't wait to show her off to everyone. It's fun getting to know her, she 's got a personality of her own and I think that minus her sleeping habits, she's a bit stubborn like her Mom!

You can see she's already sick of her picture being taken!

WELCOME ELLIE!

After a long day, Ellie Karalynn Greer, joined the world on Wednesday, April 23 at 11:59 pm. Mom and baby are doing great!! She's perfect to us - weighing in at 8 pounds even and 19.5 inches long; beautiful head of brown hair and the most stunning features. We aren't sure who she looks like but are anxious to hear everyone's thoughts.

We came home from the hospital on Friday and were greeted to balloons and signs, a very clean house and dinners in the freezer, courtesy of one of my best friends, Aunt Barbie. What a lifesaver!

Our first night home was a challenge as we are adjusting to a new schedule, but Grandma Kay Kay helped make the transition easier by staying the night with Mom & Dad. Plus, she held Ellie all night which made our little girl a happy one!

We're working hard at adjusting and figuring out a schedule, all suggestions are welcome! Feel free to come see us soon, we are anxious to show off our little princess.

Matt & I will post more pictures as we take them!

One More Night....

....of sleep! Although, I am pretty sure that neither Matt or I will sleep tonight. With all of the anticipation, uncertainty and excitement it will be hard to get any rest. We are about 12 hours from induction as I type this and its hard to believe that we'll be parents tomorrow! If you pray, say a prayer for a quick and painless (yea right) delivery for me. If you don't, well think of me and Matt tomorrow as we enter a crazy day!

I know I owe a bunch of friends and family phone calls and emails. I apologize for not being better with that this week. I have spent a ton of time trying to do last minute things, sleep and relax. So, if I haven't returned your call or email know that it isn't because I don't want to, I'm just overwhelmed. We'll send frequent updates and get back to better communication when things slow down around here!

Look for photos of our little one hopefully this weekend.

Ellie's Room

And here it is - the video of her nursery. Enjoy! My narrating isn't great - should have had Matt do it! :)

LESS THAN A WEEK!

Went to the doctor today and got great news! I'll spare the details, but know that I've made some progress and Dr. Kartha thinks we're about ready to go. Because of my BP and the possible size of the baby (they think that the measurements are wrong on the Ultrasound), they have opted to schedule an induction on Wednesday, April 23. (Mom's favorite number!).

However, she could still come on her own anytime before that. SO, we will have a baby girl within one week!!!!!

We can't wait for everyone to meet her. Matt or I will update the site with photos as soon as we can.

Ellie at 36 weeks!

Here's an updated ultrasound picture of our little Ellie at 36 weeks. It's a little hard to read, but it's a profile of her face. Nothing will ever compare to that wonderful 3D Ultrasound we had done. They did tell us she has TONS of hair - so much its already sticking up!

What day is it?

On March 25, I attended my normal doctor's appointment with Dr. Kartha (wonderful doctor, btw). During the normal stats check, my blood pressure was reading 140/90 and higher each time they took it. In addition, I had gained 5 pounds in one week and my ankles were the size of my head. We took my BP one more time at the end and it was still high. Dr. Kartha sent me to Wyandotte Hospital for a 24 hour observation. During the course of the next 24 hours, I was poked and prodded - had my BP taken 100 times and they monitored the baby. Final diagnosis - PIH (Pregnancy Induced Hypertension). It's not life threatening and no need to worry about Ellie yet. However, I am no longer able to work and will have to remain in bed or on the couch for the duration of my pregnancy. I have to take it easy and keep my BP down or there could be cause for concern. I will have to h ave Non-Stress Tests at the hospital twice a week until delivery and will see my doctor weekly. Wish us luck! I'm sure we'll be fine!

Here's a photo to keep you aware of my growing belly!

Baby Shower

The baby shower was fabulous! Our whole family is so lucky to have such great friends and family. I'm pretty sure that I won't have to shop for clothes for the first year or so - we are so blessed! I attached a photo of me there - yes, I'm huge!
