Halloween Fun

We had a great Halloween this year! We went to Greenfield Village, the Detroit Zoo, attended a kiddie party and went trick or treating with the neighbors. Most of the time, Ellie didn't want to wear her Foofa hat, but LOVED it on Halloween night. You can see she doesn't sit still for pictures very long, but we did our best. :)

My 18 month gymnast

Well, we took Princess Ellie to her 18 month appointment on Monday, and got some fun news! Our little girl is on track to be six feet tall. WOW! At 18 months, she is 35.5 inches tall (WAY over 100%ile) and is 28.5 lbs., (95%ile). Ellie also wears a size 8 shoe! We're on track to have ourselves a little WNBA star (Or at least Matt wants her to be!).

We also started gymnastics yesterday at Mills Gymnastics. She loved it! We'll be going on Tuesday nights and can't wait to show off photos of her leotard. :)

GO BEARS!

In September, I took Ellie to see Elissa's game - basically to see how she would react to the cheerleaders. I was SO happy to watch Ellie jump right in. She started clapping along, grabbing poms and was amazed at the stunts and tumbling. She was a ham and kept showing off her somersault... :) We'll have a blast during competitive season, as long as I can keep her off of the perfomance mat.

Another great weekend!

The Greers are having a very lazy Labor Day, due to the fact we had such a busy weekend! On Friday, we went with the Plozais to Calder's Dairy Farm in Carleton. It was so much fun and throughout the whole visit, we had our own personal tour guide - a goat from the farm.

On Saturday, we celebrated Brian's 8th birthday party at Skateland in Woodhaven. Ellie also enjoyed her first roller skating experience. Of course she loved it and we'll take her back soon! Happy Birthday Boogie!!

Our Day on the "West Side"

Last Friday we traveled over to the west side of the state for fun with our neighbors and family. We joined two of our great neighbors for Ellie's first adventure at Michigan Adventure in Muskegon. Matt was able to get her to ride a few of the kiddie rides before nap time and then she was just too tired! Our neighbors are great and watched the sleeping beauty in her stroller while Matt & I rode a few rides before leaving to visit the Greers.

During our visit with the Greers, Ellie's Godfather Uncle Brandon got engaged to Kelli. We're so excited for the upcoming wedding and glad to be a part of it.

Summer FUN!

We've been doing so much this summer and having a BLAST doing so! We've had a lot of firsts - ice cream cones, popsicles, swimming visits, etc. Below is just a short glimpse of our summer. We'll post more soon as we try to squeeze in some trips with what's left of summer!

15 months!

What a busy summer we've had! Shortly after our last post, we spent a morning at Children's Hospital where Ellie had to have three teeth pulled. We are still unclear of what exactly happened, but we do know that she was chewing on her crib and must have slipped.. UGH! What an awful day - fortunately, I don't think she remembers. The doctors say that she will be fine later, we just have to have the spaces monitored frequently as more teeth come in. It was truly more dificult for Matt & I than it was for her!

We've gone to the zoo a few times, traveled up north, gone swimming in Bobby & Kay Kay's pool and had a ton of play dates.

Happy Fathers Day!

We had a great Father's Day yesterday. Ellie & I made breakfast for Dad, we went grocery shopping as a family (this NEVER happens), we let Dad work in the yard and then had a BBQ with some family and friends. There's never a dull moment at the Greer house - lots of great photos, great people and cornhole! :)

We hope everyone enjoyed their day as much as we did! We loved spoiling Dad! :)

Summer kick-off

We've been having a great summer so far. Ellie is SO active so we're getting a ton of exercise - and having a blast too!

She LOVES her sunglasses....

She insists on feeding herself - and actually scream when others try to feed her!

The swing is one of her absolute favorite toys - the neighbor girls love to push me in it too!

And finally, she LOVES to read. Ellie almost always has a book in her hand.

Ellie is going to be 14 months this month. Time is just flying! :)

Ellie's first birthday party

Ellie had a WONDERFUL first birthday party. Great friends, great weather and great cake! :) There were about 15 kids here, ranging in age from 10 years - 2 weeks, and I think its safe to say that fun was had by all!

Birthday Celebration

We had a great day! Matt & I both had to work today so once 5pm hit, we were ready to celebrate.

We started with gifts from Mom & Dad. For the most part, Ellie wanted to play with the camera and boxes more than her gift....

After gifts, we moved on to dinner at Red Robin with Grandma Hoffman, Grandpa Hoffman and Uncle Matt.

After dinner, the fun started!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ELLIE!

Yep, our baby is one year old today! We can't believe how fast this past year went. It's been SO fun and Ellie is more of a joy every day.

We'll be doing some family celebrating tonight - look for pictures tonight.

Easter Extravaganza

The Easter bunny was really good to Ellie this year! TWO Easter baskets...... can we say spoiled?

I guess it's because he knew Ellie was great in church on Easter morning - and has her first birthay next week!!!

I shopped for a perfect Easter dress for a few days. And it was next to impossible to get Ellie to stand still to take pictures of the dress I bought so this was about the best I could do.... get her to stand watching TV!!!

FIRST STEPS!

We've hit a major milestone - Ellie's first steps!!! On Saturday, she was getting a bit brave and took a step or two. Yesterday (Monday), Ellie officially took her first steps. Of course Mom and Dad are happy - but check out Ellie's mile wide smile. I think she knows she's gaining some independence.

Wow are our lives going to change!

Ellie's Babies

Ellie is a lover. She is always giving out hugs and kisses, smiling all of the time and just loves people. She is constantly hugging and kissing her "babies" too. (She has TONS of babies!)

We feel so lucky to have a daughter who's so loving. :)

Updates

I have to apologize for the few blog followers I have for the lack of posts lately. I have no good excuse, we're all busy, I have just been lazy I guess. There is a lot to post - and my solemn vow is to update once a week from today until April 23 - then I'll cry because she's one! :)

In all honesty, I will do my best. Bear with me - I do have a lot to share!
